Healthy Motivation

It is around this time that all those New Years resolutions to get in shape start to fade, along with your motivation to hit the gym. Don’t lose focus! Put together a list of reasons why you wanted to get heathy, maybe sign up for a couple fun classes like Zumba, and get a friend to be your workout buddy.

Instead of weighing yourself to see progress, take weekly pictures. Seeing real results on your body instead of just numbers on scale does so much more for your self esteem, and also keeps you motivated. If you find yourself not having time to hit the gym, a few quick jumping jacks and sit ups at home will help keep the weight off. Just to put it in perspective, 1000 jumping jacks burns about 3500 calories, and there are about 3500 calories in one pound of fat. As long as you stay focused, you will reach your goal. If you get stuck in a work out rut, mix it up!
